We had a super busy and very exciting week!
On Monday, we participated in a science engineering project with Mr. Musselman where students built structures to protect a popsicle from melting in the sun. They did a great job working together in groups to build different shade structures.
We wrote a lot of thank you notes this week. We made a list of all the people who have helped us this year in Kindergarten and were amazed at how many people there were! There is an enormous team that works together to help make each student here at Francis Wyman successful!
A lot of the students’ artwork will start coming home next week, especially after our Cleaning Day on Tuesday. I saved the students’ self portraits from the beginning of the year and had them draw new self portraits more recently. I think a lot of you will be amazed at your child’s progress!
Our Field Day will be this Thursday (with a rain date on Friday). We will be participating in a variety of activities outside on the back field. Water bottles were sent home yesterday that can be washed and filled for Field Day. Students are welcome to use the water bottles before then too but they are encouraged to bring them or another water bottle for Field Day.
We will be walking to Simonds Park on Monday, June 25th. More information about the trip will go home on Friday. We will provide pizza and drinks and children will be dismissed from the park. You are welcome to either walk with us or join us at the park. We will be leaving the school around 9:30am. Children may wear their green field trip shirts if they would like.
Our last day of school will be Tuesday, June 26th. Dismissal will be around 11:15am. I sent a form home earlier this week. Please be sure to fill it out and send it back as soon as possible so we know where your child will go that day. Thanks!
I want to wish all of you wonderful fathers a very Happy Father’s Day. Thank you for all you do every day for your children and families.
Have a great weekend!
Melanie
PS...If your child will not be here on the last day of school, please let me know so I can send some of their work home ahead of time. Thanks!
