April 6, 2018 Newsletter

Dear Parents,

We have been very busy wrapping up our projects that will be displayed at our Kindergarten Museum this Tuesday, April 10th.  We hope you are able to visit our museum from 8:30-9:15am that day to see some of the children’s amazing artwork!  Admission is one penny!  Each Kindergarten classroom will be a different exhibit room.  One room will have all the students’ portraits, one will have Egyptian art, one will have contemporary art, one will have multicultural art from all the different continents, and one will be full of the students’ Impressionist artwork.  It’s all going to look amazing!  The students have much to be proud of!  The students will be available to give you a tour during your visit to the museum.  If you know you aren’t going to be able to make it, please let me know so I can be sure to have a teacher or other staff member available for your child to show around.

The students finished their Scottish tartans.  They also made Egyptian amulets by stepping on clay and leaving the imprints of their shoe soles in it.  They look pretty neat!  We will be making our final project out of “junk” on Monday!

We only have one more continent to learn about and write about.  The students have been really interested in all the facts they learned from the continent books.  They will be completing their own continent books that will go home next week.  We have been using interactive writing to write all the facts.  Please ask your child to read their books to you and share what they have learned!

We are almost done with our current math topic.  We will be starting a new topic on numbers to 100 next week.

There is a FW Used Book Store on Wednesday.  If students wish to participate, they should either bring a book from home to trade or fifty cents.

Spring Vacation is April 16-20.

Have a great weekend!

Melanie
